About Portchester Sailing Club

Portchester Sailing Club is located between Portsmouth and Fareham in South Hampshire, England. It is next to Portchester Castle, which was first a Roman fortress and is a nice relaxing place for a walk after you have been sailing. The channel in front of the club is quite deep and is also used by boats from Port Solent. There is a large area of water around the Sailing Club, although there are many mudbanks which appear at low tide.

Facilities
Car parking is free in the club car park, with a locked gate that allows members easy access to boat storage. There is also the castle car park which is free all year round. There is the slipway for easy launching, which has 2 dolphins further down for Cruiser sailors. The clubhouse has spacious changing rooms with hot water available at all times. There is a professionally run galley, a comfortable upper bar and a wet lower bar for sailors straight from the water! For spectators, the clubhouse and large decking area which provides an all year round view of the racing area, which is directly offshore from the club.
